The perfume J’adore by Dior was created in 1999 by Calice Becker and Ann Gottlieb, inspired by the perfume Miss Dior. The bottle is designed by Hervé Van Der Straeten (a former jeweler), and the glass is reminiscent of an amphora. A year after its release, Dior released a limited edition of 500 vials made of crystal and gold thread from Baccarat. The same material was used for a new limited edition released in 2012. Jean-Michel Othoniel, with Salviati(s), released a new limited edition of just over 1,000 bottles of J’adore L’Absolu in late 2012.

Chanel’s No 5, which for many years was the best-selling perfume in France, is no longer number 1. In 2011, J’adore , with sales of EUR 50.7 million and a market share of 4%, replaced it in first place. In 2013, J’adore was the best-selling perfume in France with almost 826,000 bottles sold, representing a turnover of 55 million euros.
The eau de toilette and eau de parfum are available in two versions: J’Adore L’Eau and J’Adore L’Absolu. The design of the bottle is also distinctive, as the name “J’Adore” is not directly on it.
